Guinness Book considered that the thousands of squares of pavement drawn by kids from Cluj didn't meet the standards of a World Record
On June 1st 2008, Cluj-Napoca City Hall and the Romanian Foundation for Children, Community and Family organized JOOnior Smile for all the kids from Cluj. One of the goals of the event was to establish a new world record for the biggest chalk drawing. Even if the drawing was bigger than the one which is already in Guinness Book, the Guinness Book representatives decided that our drawing cannot be certified.

Day of Play at FRCCF
The children who attend the FRCCF community centres will learn from traditional craftsmen how to make traditional toys out of corn husks, beads and wood. The toys will be exhibited at London in November.

The Project Day-care Centres Together for Children, implemented in a partnership with the Social Protection Service of Cluj-Napoca Local Council and financed by the European Union, comes to an end.

Clujul Has a Soul was designated the best project of the month, based on the votes cast on www.responsabilitatesociala.ro . The “Project of the Month” section of the website proposed three case studies, and that of Banca Transilvania – Cluj Has a Soul – got most of the votes, namely over 40% of all votes.

JOOnior Smile: We broke the world record for Pavement Drawing!
On June 1 st , at 15:00 hours, 2,000 children and 150 volunteers present at JOOnior Smile broke the world record with the largest chalk pavement art, going beyond the previous record of 5,612 m 2 . By the end of the day, almost 7,000 m 2 were covered in chalk!!!

JOOnior Smile: Pavement Drawing for Guinness World Records!
JOOnior Smile – 1 st June 2008
The children from Cluj will enter the Guinness Book of Records! On June 1 st , the Romanian Foundation for Children, Community and Family and Cluj-Napoca Mayor's Office will organise JOOnior Smile for them. Each child will bring his/her contribution to the biggest pavement drawing in the world!

For Easter, the children from Popesti brought some light to the elderly from the Centre of Social and Medical Care
25 children from the FRCCF Community Centre called “Prietenia” [Friendship], from the Industrial School Group and the Special School from Popesti brought joy to the Centre of Social and Medical Care from the same town.

This campaign follows another one from last year when FRCCF sent similar letters to businessmen and representatives of local public institutions.

“Together for Children” Day-Care Centres
The Social Protection Service of Cluj-Napoca Town Hall benefits from EU funding through 2004-2006 Phare programme – Economic and Social Cohesion / Social Services Component – of 166,610 EUR. The financed project, Together for Children Day-Care Centres , run in partnership with the Romanian Foundation for Children, Community and Family, started on the 20th of January 2007 and will end after 18 months.
