YAP (Young Action for Peace) volunteering programmes have been carried out at the FRCCF Community Centres. Since July the 18 th , volunteers from all over the world have come to Cluj-Napoca, at the FRCCF Community Centres, to help underprivileged children enrolled in FRCCF projects.
The first volunteering programme lasted two weeks (18 – 29 July). Eight volunteers from the Netherlands, South Korea, Italy, UK, USA and Romania carried out activities with the children attending the FRCCF Community Centre located on No 4, Haiducului Street. Besides all the volunteer work, one of the volunteers made a 500-Euro donation to the Foundation.
Five volunteers were involved in the second volunteering programme, which took place between the 1 st -12 th of August: two from France, one from the Netherlands, one from Switzerland and a Romanian. Every working day, they organised contests and spare time activities (fun games, sporting games, modelling, and plastic arts) with about 20 disadvantaged children from Cluj-Napoca. |

In just an hour, 16 children from the FRCCF community centres and the mayor of Cluj, Emil Boc, collected 28 bags of litter in the Faget area. |

Small Town, European Help
Jonathan Scheele Visits FRCCF Community Centre
On the 25 th of August, Jonathan Scheele, Head of the European Commission Delegation in Romania, visited the FRCCF Community Centre from Cîmpia Turzii. For two days, Mr. Scheele held meetings with officials from Cluj and visited EU-financed projects. |
