iQuest Stands By FRCCF-Assisted Children
The company iQuest Technologies from Cluj decided to continue to support the mentoring project targeting children from FRCCF community centres.
Thanks to the help of iQuest, 12 children continue to benefit from the support of adult role models to whom they became really close last year. The mentoring project implemented last year will carry on in 2007.
Since this May, those 12 children, who are usually excluded, marginalised and at risk of dropping out of school because of behaviour and adjustment problems, have been close to their mentors again.
The adult volunteers meet the children weekly. Each adult is "responsible" for one child whom he/she takes out, to the movies and he/she visits based on a well-defined schedule. The children see these adults as a reference in their life and copy their behaviour pattern.
Compared to last year, this year the children also take part in an emotional development group held by the FRCCF psychologist in order to raise the children's chances to adjust their behaviour to the demands of the community in which they live. |
